Happy 50% Off Chocolate Day!

Today is Valentine’s Day, but I like to consider it the day of chocolate sales because love is fleeting while chocolate is eternal. So here’s a look you can wear while you go to buy chocolate today or tomorrow, then you can continue looking  good while you stuff your face.  Continue reading

Happy Lunar New Year!

i haven’t really done much with eyeshadow lately, but all the LNY hype has been getting to me so I caved and did an eye look with more eyeshadows than I’ve used in the last few weeks combined. Ha. Red and gold is always a fun color combination to play with, I’ll be honest! (I know I’m a day early, but who has time to do this on weekdays anyways?)  Continue reading

Formula X Piaf Nail Polish

I bought this sucker a month ago at Sephora but I’ve never gotten around to wearing it until now! And, of course, by the time I get around to putting it on and photographing it for a review, it’s already been gone from my brick-and-mortar Sephora for a few weeks. But heck, I didn’t take all these pictures for nothing, and it looks like this is still available for purchase ($12.50) on the Sephora website, so here we go. My nail polish application skills are not the best and for that I apologize in advance.

This polish is part of a limited edition collaboration with the Kat von D brand where Formula X put out several polishes matching some Studded Kiss lipstick colors.  Continue reading

Ecotools Eye-Enhancing Duo Brush Set

My Sephora eye brushes have started to shed and they feel extremely itchy, so I decided to return to my cheapo brush roots and get a new Ecotools set. I only have one Ecotools eyeshadow brush, but it’s getting a bit old too and I like having multiple eyeshadow brushes so that’s how I’m going to justify this to myself. And I mean, hey, $5.99 for what is essentially a set of 4 brushes is not bad at all. Continue reading

Sephora Birthday Gift 2016: Marc Jacobs Edition

My mom’s birthday is in January, so she was among the first to have the 2016 Sephora birthday gift bestowed upon her. There are two options: a skincare set from Fresh or a cosmetics set from Marc Jacobs. My mom already has her skincare routine together, so she walked out with the makeup. The set contains a Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Blacquer ($25 full-sized) and a Le Marc lipstick in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang ($30 full-sized). My mom commented that I could put these on my blog. She knows me too well. Continue reading

Colourpop Swerve, Best O, Stomper Creme Gel Colour

Colourpop recently released gel eyeliner in a larger range of colors than I’ve ever seen in any eyeliner line ever. I’ve been looking to try gel liner out, so at $6 a pot I couldn’t resist picking out a few. The three I got are relatively tame colors because I needed good daily liners, but next time I’ll definitely be grabbing some more out-there colors because this line knocks it out of the park! Small Colourpop Haul

I hope you all had good New Year’s celebrations! I got my Christmas present to myself in the mail today. I’ve been trying to curb my spending on Colourpop stuff but I really, really wanted to give the gel liners a try and get a few more liquid lip colors. I’ll be reviewing these as I test them out but here are some swatches and first impressions to start!  Continue reading
